JHTA to elect new head as Robin Russell steps down

ST JAMES, Jamaica — President of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA), Robin Russell, has told members and those gathered at the JHTA annual general meeting that he will not seek re-election.

Russell, who has led the organisation since 2022, steps down after being elected three terms to the leadership of the umbrella group.

“Thank you for your trust, your partnership during my tenure,” Russell declared to those present at the meeting.

The new head for the grouping will be decided in a closed-door session later today. Russell urged his colleagues to pay that individual the same level of respect.

“I hope you all pledge the same level of support or even more to my successor,” he said.
