JAMAICA RENEWABLE ENERGY ALLIANCE

BACKGROUND
USAID has awarded US$4 million to support a 3-year initiative by The Jamaica Renewable Energy Alliance, an alliance of Jamaican and international partner organisations to foster distributed solar photovoltaic energy and increase energy resilience in Jamaica. Led by The Cadmus Group, a strategic and technical consultancy, the alliance mobilises up to US$50 million in investment funds to support solar power project development. Under the partnership with the JHTA, the Alliance aims to develop resilient, distributed energy solutions within the tourism sector to provide additional tangible sustainability options as well as to demonstrate the impact of community solar on the tourism industry.

  • Provide channels for accessing financing from alliance partner
